Veterans Benefits Specialist

Responsibilities

Assist Veterans and their families with preparing, submitting, and supporting claims for federal and state benefits
Represent claimants before USDVA adjudicating bodies and support appeals when needed
Serve as a liaison between NDDVA, County and Tribal Veterans Service Officers, and USDVA offices
Provide technical guidance and training on veterans' benefits and related programs
Coordinate with National and County Service Officers at USDVA healthcare facilities and Regional Offices
Participate in outreach, education, and community engagement efforts
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

A bachelor's degree in business, public administration, human resources, social work, or a closely related field OR
A high school diploma or GED plus four years of relevant professional experience, including:

Preferred

Experience working with veterans benefits or related programs
Experience conducting investigations or gathering evidence for claims, complaints, or appeals
Background in public relations, community outreach, or public service
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
