Responsibilities

Providing instruction in accordance with established curricula, course outlines, and class schedules
Teaching core concepts related to film festivals and distribution, including festival strategy, submissions, sales agents, and distribution models
Guiding students in the preparation of professional materials for their completed films, including festival submissions, marketing assets, pitch decks, and press kits
Creating and maintaining a learning environment that encourages critical thinking, professional readiness, and open discussion
Incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion perspectives within industry case studies and course content
Evaluating student progress and assessing written, analytical, and project-based work
Maintaining accurate academic records and clear communication regarding student performance
Maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics
Staying current with trends in film festivals, distribution platforms, and industry practices
Fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time adjunct faculty member

Required

Degree in Filmmaking, Producing, Entertainment Business, or a closely related field (or equivalent professional experience)
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience actively engaged in the film industry, with demonstrated experience in film festivals, sales, and/or distribution
Ability to translate real-world industry experience into clear, accessible instruction for emerging filmmakers
Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Experience preparing or overseeing festival, marketing, or distribution materials for completed films
