Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Coach and develop a team of buyers; oversee daily operations and performance
Supply Assurance: Guarantee raw materials and finished goods availability to meet production schedules
Cost Optimization: Analyze vendor pricing and lead initiatives to achieve annual savings targets, including programs to offset wage inflation
Vendor Management: Maintain scorecards, enforce contract terms, and cultivate strategic partnerships
Contract Negotiation: Secure favorable terms with new suppliers and refresh agreements with existing ones
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to source innovative materials and components
Market Intelligence: Monitor supply-chain trends, commodity fluctuations, and risks to proactively adjust strategies
Process Excellence: Design and audit ERP workflows to ensure compliance and efficiency. Understands changes and fluctuations in the supply chain through market analysis and research that can impact the cost and/or production
Qualification
Required
7+ years' experience of sourcing and procuring in a manufacturing environment
2-4 years of management experience
Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline
Preferred
MBA or the equivalent experience
Experience and/or knowledge of TPS and other lean tools
