Controls Engineer
Pro Resources Staffing Services is partnering with a well-established and growing automation manufacturer in Huntington, IN to hire a Controls Engineer for a direct hire opportunity. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical control systems for automated material handling and packaging solutions, supporting projects from initial design through production, installation, and customer acceptance.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test electrical control systems to meet project specifications, timelines, and budget requirements
Develop control systems for conveyors, machinery, custom pneumatic/electrical devices, and integrated equipment
Create system and panel schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
Generate and maintain bills of materials
Program and debug PLC, servo, and HMI software
Participate in all project phases including design, build, testing, installation, startup, and customer acceptance
Provide on-site installation and startup support (10–30% travel)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, project management, assembly, and service
Review customer specifications, functional descriptions, and drawings
Assist sales and application engineering with technical input for customer quotes
Create and maintain project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Qualification
Required

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
5+ years of relevant controls/automation experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
Strong communication and documentation skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred
Sensors, vision systems, and barcode readers (Rockwell, Banner, IFM, SICK, Keyence, Cognex, etc.)
Pneumatics (SMC, Festo, or similar)
Experience with Siemens, B&R, Beckhoff, Omron, Mitsubishi, or GE hardware
Codesys or TwinCAT software experience
