Lead Data Architect, SYD 85
US Space Systems Command is seeking a Lead Data Architect to support strategic planning efforts related to data processing and integration across mission and operational space data. The role involves delivering reports and presentations to support leadership decision-making and ensuring alignment with agency priorities.

Responsibilities
Contribute to strategic planning efforts by identifying how data is processed, protected, persistent, integrated/federated with other data repositories, and disseminated across a wide variety of mission and operational space data
Support agency priorities and performance goals, ensuring alignment with the mission of the unit and the broader agency
Deliver reports, presentations, and briefings to support leadership decision-making and stakeholder communication
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance
Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files
May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis
Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed 'Unscheduled Telework'
This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first
Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments
PCS / relocation funding is not authorized
This position has been designated for drug testing. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing as a condition of employment
Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 15 days a year
Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, 'Confidential Financial Disclosure Report
This position is designated a NON-CRITICAL APDP position
This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). Unless specifically waived by the appropriate component official
The employee must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position
This is a cybersecurity position; the employee will attain appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certificate(s) applicable for cybersecurity functions required for the DoD position
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science
Preferred
STEM degree (BS, MS or PhD); preferably computer science, data engineering, or systems engineering
Experience with the Department of War (DoW) and Department of the Air Force (DAF) data governance, data sharing and security protocols
Knowledge of a wide range of advanced multidisciplinary professional engineering practices such as data science, computer science, research analysis concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, and techniques to apply experimental theories and new developments to problems
Extensive level of knowledge of U.S. and NATO Intelligence Information system programs, IT systems requirements management process, IT services to include operational theater support, U.S. and NATO exercise planning as it relates to services utilization, and experience in supporting requirements specification and implementation for national, multinational and NATO intelligence systems
Comprehensive knowledge of Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events
Expert level knowledge of a wide range of technical information systems to include Web-based application development using Java, XML-based metadata generation, handling, transformation, programming for common internet protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP), interfacing software with SQL databases
Working knowledge of and familiarity with current programming, application development languages and frameworks including but not limited to JavaScript libraries (jQuery, ExtJS), PHP programming, SQL database administration/manipulation, and eXo portal development and administration, SAML 2, active directories and federation server, LDAP based directory services, cross domain application level security guards/gateways, implementation of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and vulnerability assessment tools
Skill and recent experience with information system security engineering principles and practices as it applies to developing and accrediting information systems that protect sensitive and classified information
Recent experience in the development and implementation of secure service-oriented architectures, worldwide cloud services including but not limited to infrastructure as a service and security as a service
Ability to apply a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of plans and programs for managing, planning, budgeting and executing operations utilizing diverse support structures and inter-agency cooperation on advanced concepts, principles and practices such as Special Communications; Information Operations; Collection Management and Operations; Research, development, test and engineering; Systems integration; Cyberspace information assurance and security systems; Information Systems; Data Engineering; Planning, Programming, & Budgeting System (PPBS), acquisition, special operations, or similar operations
