Retirement Plan Consultant
Freedom Fiduciaries is a firm that specializes in retirement plan consulting. The Retirement Plan Consultant serves as a primary client-facing fiduciary consultant, responsible for managing and growing a book of retirement plan clients, delivering high-touch fiduciary consulting, participant education, and strategic oversight of plan design and investments.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary consultant for an assigned book of retirement plan clients
Act as a fiduciary resource to plan sponsors on ERISA governance, best practices, and regulatory considerations
Lead client review meetings, including investment, plan design, and fiduciary process discussions
Build sponsor confidence through clear communication, proactive guidance, and consistent follow-through
Coordinate with advisors, recordkeepers, TPAs, and custodians to ensure alignment and execution
Deliver group education meetings and one-on-one participant consultations
Provide participant-level guidance and advice within the scope of firm services
Support inbound participant calls related to plan features, investments, and retirement readiness
Drive increased participant engagement and utilization of plan education and advice resources over time
Manage and support plan conversions between recordkeepers, TPAs, custodians, or investment platforms
Oversee timelines, data validation, communication strategy, and stakeholder coordination
Identify risks early and proactively resolve conversion and transition issues
Support quarterly and annual investment and fiduciary reporting
Assist with investment analysis, benchmarking, and monitoring processes as skills permit
Leverage reporting tools and data to deliver clear, actionable insights that support sponsor decision-making
Maintain accurate, timely client records and workflows within the firm CRM
Ensure fiduciary decisions, processes, and actions are well documented and defensible
Collaborate with internal service, operations, and leadership teams to deliver consistent client outcomes
Contribute to the refinement of consulting processes, education strategies, and service models
Qualification
Required
Series 65 license
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a retirement plan advisor, consultant, or TPA administrator
Demonstrated experience working directly with plan sponsors and participants
Strong understanding of ERISA fiduciary responsibilities and retirement plan structures
Preferred
CRM proficiency, including client documentation and workflow management
Investment reporting and performance analysis
Conducting participant education meetings and individual advice sessions
Experience managing participant advice conversations
Experience supporting or leading provider conversions
