Responsibilities
Provide expert analysis on dram shop and alcohol service-related cases, including over-service, security practices, staff training, and compliance with state and local liquor laws
Conduct site visits, incident reconstructions, and policy reviews to gather evidence and provide context for cases
Prepare detailed expert reports and written opinions based on thorough research and investigation
Serve as an expert witness during depositions and trials, effectively conveying complex operational and regulatory information to non-experts
Collaborate with legal teams to strategize on case presentations and expert testimony
Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and emerging trends in responsible alcohol service and liability risk management
Qualification
Required
15+ years of experience in bar/restaurant management, alcohol service training, liquor liability compliance, or law enforcement related to alcohol regulation
Prior disposition and testimony experience required
Proven track record of serving as an expert witness in legal proceedings or comparable high-level consulting roles
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences
Preferred
Certification in responsible alcohol service (TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, or comparable programs) preferred
