Regional Host & Producer
NORTH FORK VALLEY PUBLIC RADIO INCORPORATED is seeking a Regional News Host and Producer to fill a weekday newscast with original and curated journalism. The role involves reporting stories, producing content for a public affairs show, and collaborating with community partners.
Responsibilities
Host and produce KVNF’s weekday Regional Newscast
Identify and report original stories from communities across Western Colorado
Curate and edit content from regional and statewide public-media partners
Publish accompanying web and social content, including short audio promos tied to daily news coverage
Make daily editorial decisions about story selection and placement
Build and maintain relationships with community members, local officials, and organizations
Record and edit audio interviews, spots, wraps, and voicers
Breaking or emergency new coverage
Represent KVNF professionally in the community and on the air
Contribute to fundraising efforts and special coverage as needed
Qualification
Required
Experience in news production or a demonstrated equivalent is required
Familiar with public radio and NPR standards and ethics
Curious, observant, and engaged with community life
Comfortable being a consistent on-air voice
Confident making editorial decisions under deadline
Interested in rural and regional reporting
Organized, self-directed, and collaborative
Applicants must live in, or plan to relocate to, the KVNF broadcast area
Preferred
Public radio or nonprofit media experience is a plus, but not required
