People Operations and Workplace Experience Partner
Rip Curl is the Ultimate Surfing Company, seeking a People Operations and Workplace Experience Partner. This role serves as the focal point for people-related matters, providing advisory and operational support while fostering a culture of employee engagement and experience.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate, responsive and quality Employee Relations advice and support to managers ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and best practice
Conduct thorough and accurate investigations of ER issues and follow principles of natural justice and procedural fairness
Advise management and employees on company policies and procedures in a clear and concise manner
Produce high quality, compliant and accurate ER documentation
Escalate complex ER cases to the Head of HR
Support with recruitment process and own certain roles, supporting the business by finding amazing talent
Manage onboarding process, including preparation and administration of new hire documentation, as needed
Ensure all relevant departments are notified of new starters in a timely fashion and all tools, etc required for new starter are ready prior to day 1
Prepare and distribute welcome packs
Oversee the onboarding process, supporting people leaders in effectively inducting and orienting new employees, as well as guiding the probationary review process
Collaborate with the Learning team to improve employee experience and streamline the onboarding process
Manage the offboarding process to ensure exit interviews are completed and exit data is made available to the Group HR Risk and Analytics team
Ensure all relevant departments are notified of exits in a timely fashion to ensure all required processes are completed and company assets are returned
Ensure that all employees are treated equally and fairly to assure a positive leaving experience
Work with the Group People team to support the embedding of talent management, succession planning, capability development and engagement and wellbeing activities
Champion organisational development programs with manager and employees to generate uptake and improved employee engagement and experience
Facilitate training as required
Proactively engage with managers to identify high performing and high potential employees to support the succession planning process
Monitor the performance review process in Dayforce to drive completion and compliance
Support managers with the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) through education and guidance
Monitor the PIP process with managers to ensure compliance with the process and legislation
Support the Head of HR with annual HR processes detailed in the annual Group HR calendar for the Brands, including but not limited to performance reviews, annual salary review planning, succession planning
Support the Head of HR in ensuring the business is prepared to participate in the annual processes by providing them with timely communications, education and support. Facilitate some processes, as directed by the Head of HR
Support the Group Health Safety & Wellbeing team by monitoring and enforcing all relevant policies and procedures
Foster a culture of health safety and wellbeing within the business to protect our employees, reduce injury and illness and increase productivity
Ensure compliance with all BCorp HR related requirements and escalate any non-compliance in a timely manner to the Head of HR
Prepare accurate and timely employee documentation and correspondence as required
Ensure the Payroll team are advised of all employee changes to ensure accurate data is being maintained
Nurture a collaborative and cooperative relationship with the Group People team, to ensure where applicable an unified approach
Provide wider HR team support on key activities as directed by the Head of HR
Qualification
Required
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including well developed negotiation and influencing capabilities
High levels of diplomacy and experience in dealing with difficult stakeholders where empathy and discretion is required
A proactive, professional and customer focused approach with the ability to influence and negotiate effective outcomes with a broad range of employees
Team player committed to working collaboratively
Demonstrated ability to organise and plan, meet tight and conflicting demands and deadlines, along with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
An understanding of and complete commitment to confidentiality
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent relevant qualification
Experience in an HR Advisory role or similar
Sound knowledge of and experience in interpreting employment legislation
High level of proficiency in MS Office suite and HRIS
Ability to interpret complex policies and procedures
Ability to work well under pressure with a high level of accuracy
