Focus exclusively on the pet category, including food, toys, and accessories
Utilize knowledge of buying programs to influence purchasing decisions
Guide buyers in strategic product selection and inventory evaluation
Collaborate with vendors to maintain accurate replenishment numbers
Engage in regular in-person meetings with vendors to align on purchasing strategies
Maintain strategic oversight across various categories, particularly during peak buying seasons
Adapt inventory strategies to avoid overstocking while meeting customer demand
Support the company in its expansion from 55 to 200 stores within five years
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in the large animal/pet buying category
Familiarity with merchandise management systems
Preferred
Experience with pet food purchasing is preferred, but other merchandise experience is acceptable
BA degree preferred
