Responsibilities
Direct and oversee mechanical engineering design activities from concept through construction
Prepare and review HVAC and mechanical layouts using Revit and AutoCAD MEP
Perform and validate engineering calculations using industry-standard tools
Coordinate system designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering teams
Define mechanical system criteria, performance requirements, and operational sequences
Lead quality reviews (QA/QC) for project documentation and team output
Support project planning, resource allocation, and budget development
Conduct site visits, construction reviews, and generate detailed field reports
Review and respond to RFIs, design changes, and construction documentation updates
Supervise and mentor CAD/BIM designers and junior engineering staff
Contribute to proposal development and technical presentations
Participate in professional industry groups and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Develop high-level construction cost estimates and feasibility studies using ROM analysis
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (accredited institution)
12+ years of professional experience within a consulting engineering environment
Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD MEP
Ability to generate and review redline markups for production teams
Strong understanding of construction drawings and 3D spatial coordination
Expertise in mechanical system selection and performance analysis
Solid knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations
Strong interdisciplinary coordination and communication skills
Professional Engineer (PE) license – mandatory
Preferred
Familiarity with SKM software, short-circuit coordination, and arc flash studies is a strong plus
