Data Analyst

Responsibilities
Conduct data management and analysis with a moderate degree of independence
Create timely, accurate weekly reports summarizing study progress
Develop and implement data quality assurance processes
Implement pre-analysis preparation of data, including data cleaning, coding, and development of scales
Assemble study datasets for analysis and reporting purposes
Contribute to the interpretation of study results and develop recommendations based on study findings
Contribute to data-related study coordination and administration tasks
Interface with academic and/or community research partners around data-related issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related area and one or more years of relevant experience and / or equivalent experience / training
Working knowledge of research function, specifically planning, execution and analysis of clinical trials of social, behavioral or economic interventions
Working skills associated with statistical analysis of intervention studies, and systems programming to maintain study databases and conduct analyses
Skills in project management
Working knowledge of and some experience using Stata, R or other similar statistical software to manage, clean, analyze, and present data, and Microsoft suite
Working knowledge to implement statistical methods including random, mixed and individual fixed effects regressions to analyze clustered and/or longitudinal data, with continuous, dichotomous, categorical, and/or zero-inflated outcomes, including testing model assumptions and identifying solutions related to common data issues including missing or skewed data. Willingness to learn on the job to fill in areas of less knowledge to implement statistical methods
Ability to work well independently, complete projects in a timely manner, and prioritize multiple projects to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines
Attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent, effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with subjects, team members, other departments and outside institutions
Preferred
Master's degree in a related field of study with coursework and applied knowledge pertaining to epidemiology, biostatistics, behavioral sciences, quantitative research, and/or public health
CITI Certified
Working experience creating, maintaining and running reports from research databases (e.g., REDCap)
Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
Experience with research dissemination (e.g., authoring, coauthoring or contributing to scientific journal manuscripts, internal reports, and other documents disseminating research results), and demonstrated writing skills in a science/research environment
Experience with preparing materials for oversight or stakeholder bodies, such as a Data and Safety Monitoring Board (or other similar body), Institutional Review Boards, advisory boards, or study co-Investigator including reports on study progress, recruitment and protocol deviations, and data-related updates
Experience with research focusing on social, structural, and economic drivers of health, particularly in the context of HIV, diabetes and/or chronic diseases. Specific experience with food insecurity measures and data a bonus
The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working with a diverse study population
Ability to effectively solve logistical issues, adjust in real time, proactively identify issues and suggest solutions on how to make projects run more smoothly
Spanish language skills
