BUSINESS ANALYST II

Responsibilities
Lead the monthly payroll process for the agency, including reviewing timesheets and time trackers for signatures and accuracy to pay and leave authorizations. Enter and balance time for the agency’s payroll
Process monthly grant billings as assigned
Monitor and manage payment notification emails
Assign received funds to Accounts Receivable or other accounts as applicable
Process petty cash request forms
Responsible for reconciling GL accounts and making Journal Entries monthly while coordinating any adjustments with the county finance staff
Creates and reconciles reports and provides information to department managers related to the budget
Assist in pulling data, creating databases, analyzing financial information and data mining for various quality assurance and performance analysis processes
Tracks and reports grant performance and compliance
Answers questions and assists problem solving as it relates to financial data supporting decision making
Process accounts payable, cash receipts, and payroll transactions as needed
Facilitate purchasing transactions working with MCPH programs as needed
Prepare and create detailed financial reports to monitor, report and evaluate financial activity
Work with the county finance and treasurer departments to assure accuracy and coordination
Maintain project accounting in financial systems while coordinating with county finance staff
Administrative duties including: continual evaluation of current policies, procedures, and internal controls requiring effective interaction with multiple people including auditors, and state employees; direct employees, assigns work, makes decisions; informs supervisor of employee achievements, progress and problems; suggests solutions and makes recommendations; assist auditors and accounting supervisor in annual close and prepares memorandums, letters and reports in final form
This position will be expected to direct and guide others in performing these duties
Participates in emergency planning and response activities
Participates in agency-wide activities that may include strategic planning, quality improvement, and/or staff development, as appropriate
Completes necessary training through FEMA, including Incident Command Structure (ICS) courses
When a local declaration of emergency or disaster is declared by County leadership, employees may be required to work as part of a National Incident Management System (NIMS)
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field, Accounting preferred, or equivalent experience/training
A valid Colorado driver's license with a responsible driving record
Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job
