Responsibilities
Develop new prospects and interact with existing customers to increase sales within a specified geographic territory
Present our product lines and services to existing customers and prospects
Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts
Cultivate a team environment, working with inside sales to promote and expand business. Ensure quotes, material, and deliveries meet customer needs
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends to identify opportunities for company growth
Investigate and resolve customer inquiries
Qualification
Required
Proven sales experience, preferably outside sales background
Strong communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal; comfortable speaking with customers on the phone and via email
Ability to handle objections and provide alternatives in the sales process
Valid and clean driving record (no DWI, reckless driving, or similar violations within the last 5 years)
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment
PC literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); ERP/CRM experience is a plus
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in a sales career
Possess a strong professional work ethic
Preferred
Industry knowledge in metals is highly preferred
Ability to learn technical product information
Possess a result-oriented mindset
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to initiate and sustain productive business relationships with customers
