PEER SUPPORT SVCS MANAGER
UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center is seeking a Peer Support Services Manager responsible for the administration of Peer Support Services. The role includes overseeing staff, managing patient care services, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
Develop efficient organizational structure
Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives
Attend meetings as required, and participate on committees as directed
Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
Coordinate staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage; adjust/change schedules as necessary; Oversee patient schedules to ensure appropriate care
Ensure maintenance of procedure records and patient billing charges; prepare and maintain statistical data, reports and memoranda; direct equipment maintenance and storage; ensure adequate supply and equipment levels
Meet with vendor representatives; evaluate new equipment and techniques
Oversees Intraoperative Monitoring Program which includes Evoked Potential and Brain Mapping
Oversee long term Digital EEG Monitoring Program for Intensive Care Units
Perform Electroencephalogram (EEG) and other related duties
Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
Assists in training personnel
Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may 'not seem right'
Prepare and administer department budget; monitor and manage budget expenditures
Provide clinical direction to staff
Develop and maintain good communication with other hospital departments
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring lab operations and programs and physical properties; initiate changes as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
3 years directly related experience
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
