ENGINEERING INTERN
LISI AEROSPACE is a leader in the aerospace value chain specializing in high-tech metal components for aircraft safety and performance. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support manufacturing engineers by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance production processes.

Responsibilities
Creates tooling drawing using Solid works and/or AutoCAD
Collects data on “green belt” projects for Six Sigma
Analyzes & troubleshoots manufacturing floor production problems
Produces production metrics and creates display boards
May assist with the manufacturing routing for dispositioned products in the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning system, M3 & update the quality system, LINKS, (LISI Information Network & Knowledge System)
Assist with the Quality Engineering in tracking rejections trends and corrective action plans
Assist with Quality Engineering in Right First Time initiatives
Follow all 5S department procedures which include but are not limited to; keeping floors clean of oil and debris, returning tools to proper locations, organize part pans, and performs other housekeeping duties as needed
Able to recognize cosmetic non-conformances based on Company specifications such as; burrs, galling, cracked edges, slug marks, dimensional changes in production parts and initiate action to prevent non-conformance such as stopping the machine and notifying Supervisor
Attends all required job related training
Works under close supervision with limited degree of creativity and latitude as required
Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures
Responsibility for complying with ISO 14001 standards, aspects, directives and impact as related to the HSE policy commitments
Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements and safe operating procedures at all times
Required to identify and alert any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately
Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results
Suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the production function such as EMS and recycling opportunities to elimination of production waste
Performs a variety of other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
0-1 year of entry level engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of relevant engineering applications
Proficient in Computer assisted design (CAD)
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Evidence of 'US person' is required under ITAR
