Manager, Strategic Communications
Morreale Communications is a Rosemont-based female-owned public relations firm that empowers clients to elevate their voices during change, crisis, and opportunity. They are seeking a Communications Manager to support various public-sector and healthcare clients through high-quality writing, thoughtful counsel, and strong account leadership.

Responsibilities
Serve as a day-to-day client contact, ensuring consistent communication, responsiveness, and follow-through
Prepare meeting agendas, document next steps, and maintain clear action-item accountability
Coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure timely completion of deliverables
Support senior leadership in managing client expectations and identifying solutions when priorities shift
Draft, edit, and finalize communications materials, including press releases, media statements, talking points, FAQs, newsletters, website copy, social content, stakeholder updates, and internal communications
Translate complex topics and public-sector information into clear, accurate, audience-friendly messaging
Ensure consistency in tone, style, and brand voice across all communications
Maintain high standards for accuracy, clarity, and attention to detail, particularly for public-facing materials
Manage timelines, workflows, approvals, and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects
Track project budgets and spending, supporting accurate forecasting and proactive budget management
Coordinate with vendors and partners, including estimates, scopes of work, and invoice tracking
Identify risks early and elevate issues appropriately with recommended solutions
Support the development of strategic communications plans, content calendars, and campaign materials
Collaborate closely with colleagues across account teams, creative and clients
Contribute to internal process improvements that strengthen consistency, efficiency, and quality
Qualification
Required
5-7 years of professional experience in public relations, communications, or related fields
Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing across multiple communications formats
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality
Strong judgment, professionalism, and discretion, especially when working on sensitive topics
Experience managing budgets, timelines, and vendor coordination
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; comfort with project management tools is a plus IE: Asana, MailChimp and Constant Contact
Candidates must possess a current, valid driver's license as some travel is required for events in the Chicagoland area and downstate
Preferred
Agency experience preferred; experience supporting government or public-sector clients strongly preferred
