Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Golang, aligned with approved architectural patterns and platform standards
Integrate services with existing CI/CD and change-management pipelines (GitHub Actions, XLR)
Build, deploy, and operate containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
Implement phased policy-enforcement mechanisms as defined by platform governance
Develop and enhance frontend components and features using React
Contribute to OneApp-based applications where applicable
Ensure adherence to established frontend/backend contracts, API standards, and performance expectations
Implement data models and schemas in accordance with defined standards
Make informed decisions on data access patterns, storage usage, and data flow within owned components and services
Own end-to-end delivery of assigned features or services from development through General Availability (GA)
Drive post-GA refinement, optimization, and reliability improvements
Ensure functional requirements are implemented, validated, and clearly documented
Write and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration, and regression coverage
Participate in performance, load, and scalability testing activities
Proactively identify and remediate reliability, stability, and performance risks
Apply evidence-based testing and software engineering best practices
Instrument services with logging, metrics, and alerts in line with observability standards
Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident reviews as required
Contribute to technical documentation, runbooks, and design artifacts
Participate in design reviews and architecture discussions
Review code and technical documentation from Engineer III peers
Support troubleshooting of production issues and user-reported incidents
Execute against technical direction and strategy defined by Engineer II – Premium and Staff Architecture, translating designs into reliable implementations
Provide day-to-day technical guidance to Engineer III engineers through code reviews, pairing, and implementation support
Own medium-complexity components or services, balancing delivery speed, quality, and operational considerations within defined architectural constraints
Qualification
Required
5–7 years of professional software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in Golang or React, with working knowledge across the full stack
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub, and modern CI/CD pipelines
Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native development principles
Proven ability to deliver independently within established architectural frameworks
Clear written and verbal communication skills
