Responsibilities
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounts for inmates at your designated institution
Overseeing the processes related to inmate releases and transfers
Addressing inquiries regarding inmate accounts
Resolving any discrepancies that may arise
Drafting memos
Providing account summaries
Responding to phone inquiries
Entering data into QuickBooks
Posting accounting information to various financial records
Making routine adjustments
Preparing daily summaries and monthly reports
Conducting trial balances to generate standard financial reports
Qualification
Required
Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
