Administrative Assistant IV - Grievance Analyst - Administrative Review and Risk Management (028141)
Texas Department Of Criminal Justice is seeking an Administrative Assistant IV to perform advanced administrative support work for the Offender Grievance Program. The role involves coordinating administrative support, developing filing systems, preparing reports, and providing guidance to others under limited supervision.

Responsibilities
Performs advanced administrative support and technical program assistance work for the Offender Grievance Program; and responds to inquiries regarding technical program and administrative rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Assists in researching technical and policy issues pertaining to offender grievances; and coordinates the preparation, editing, and distribution of correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and other documents
Conducts investigations of reported and suspected violations of agency rules
Prepares, interprets, and disseminates information concerning program policies and procedures; and develops and maintains filing, record keeping, and records management systems to include automated information systems
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED
Three years full-time, wage-earning customer service, clerical, secretarial, administrative support, technical program support, or data gathering and assessment experience. Fifteen semester hours from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE) may be substituted for each six months of experience
Knowledge of office practices and procedures
Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely
Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public
Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Skill in problem-solving techniques
Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network environment
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs
Skill to prepare and maintain accurate records, files, and reports
Skill to plan work in order to meet established guidelines
Skill to review technical data and prepare technical reports
Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 15 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment
Conditions include working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electrical energy, working closely with others, working alone, working protracted or irregular hours, and traveling by car, van, bus, and airplane
Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing only the essential functions include computer and related equipment, calculator, copier, fax machine, telephone, dolly, and automobile

Investigation experience preferred
Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred
