Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineering managers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within your organization
Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement the technical vision and strategy for your area of responsibility. Ensure architectural decisions align with AWS’s long-term goals and scalability requirements
Oversee the execution of multiple complex engineering projects across teams. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software that meets customer needs and business objectives
Work closely with product management, operations, and other engineering teams to align technical initiatives with business goals and customer requirements
Drive initiatives to improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies. Implement best practices in software development and operations (DevOps) across your organization
Define and track key business metrics for your teams. Use data-driven insights to optimize team performance and drive continuous improvement
Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of AWS services
Qualification
Required
3+ years of engineering team management experience
7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
Experience in Kubernetes, Docker or containers ecosystem
Experience with cloud native technologies
