Responsibilities

Develop and maintain weekly and monthly carrier performance reports. Examine key transportation KPIs to find trends, outliers, and root causes. Partner with carriers to address performance issues and drive improvements
Forecast shipment volumes for distribution centers and carrier partners during promotional events and peak seasons. Ensure proper capacity planning and equipment availability
Manage day-to-day relationships with 5+ transportation carriers, including regular performance check-ins and quarterly business reviews to ensure solid operational partnerships
Design and implement data visualization tools, such as dashboards and presentations. Translate complex data into actionable insights. Use these insights to inform decision-making and improve processes
Maintain and distribute updated carrier documentation, such as rate cards and transit time tables, to applicable teams. Ensure teams use these documents for system updates and operational alignment
Monitor carrier tracking feeds to ensure accurate and timely data transmission into REI’s internal systems, supporting reliable performance analysis
Support annual transportation budgeting through data analysis
Contribute to RFP processes and assist with onboarding new carriers and services as needed
Collaborate cross-functionally to support the successful launch of new locations, ensuring transportation readiness and alignment
Foster effective communication and collaboration across divisions to support shared goals and ensure timely issue resolution

Required

3+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations. Preference for backgrounds in omni-channel retail, parcel fulfillment, demand planning, or distribution
Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related quantitative field
Advanced proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Sigma) preferred
Exceptional data-backed and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data, evaluate trends, and make informed recommendations
Familiarity with carrier contracts and vendor management practices
Demonstrated business acumen and sound judgment in solving problems and identifying opportunities
Effective communicator and collaborator, with a track record of working cross-functionally to achieve business goals
Curious, adaptable, and proactive in driving continuous improvement and innovation

Preferred
