Responsibilities
Perform all duties within the scope of Medical Assistant practice, including operating diagnostic equipment (without test interpretation), performing EKGs, removing staples from superficial wounds, changing wound dressings, obtaining cultures, administering non-intravenous medications, and collecting specimens via noninvasive techniques, venipuncture, or capillary methods
Conduct quality control checks on medical equipment and prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments using an autoclave
Room patients according to established policies and procedures and prepare patients for examinations
Accurately and timely document patient care and clinical activities in the medical record
Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians and in accordance with company standards and policies
Maintain patient confidentiality and consistently treat patients with courtesy, respect, and professionalism
Organize, stock, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms; ensure instruments are properly sterilized
Practice and adhere to standard infection control and safety precautions at all times
Perform telephone and in-person patient screening limited to intake and information gathering without exercising independent clinical judgment
Support and comply with Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO)
Perform all other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school/GED or equivalent
Current, Medical Assistant Certification/ Registration
Preferred
Bilingual preferred but not required
ECW(EClinicalWorks) proficiency preferred but not required
