Responsibilities
Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge overseeing daily pharmacy operations and compliance
Lead and supervise pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
Conduct patient evaluations, develop and manage pharmaceutical care plans for oral and injectable oncology therapies
Coordinate with physicians and clinical teams to ensure safe and timely medication delivery
Review, verify, and dispense specialty medications in accordance with professional standards
Perform QA checks on all new and refill prescriptions
Ensure proper insurance approval prior to dispensing
Provide patient counseling and education regarding therapy, side effects, and interactions
Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, patient charges, and inventory
Develop and uphold pharmacy policies, procedures, and workflow optimization
Oversee hazardous drug handling and disposal processes
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
Support accreditation efforts including NABP, URAC, ACHC, and NCODA
Participate in training, mentorship, performance evaluations, and staff development
Assist with strategic planning, budgeting, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
Minimum 5 years of experience as a registered pharmacist
1–2 years of pharmacy management or supervisory experience required
Valid pharmacist licenses in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Idaho, Iowa
Strong knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations and medication management
Experience working with pharmacy information systems
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in an environment with exposure to chemotherapeutic agents
Preferred
Oncology pharmacy experience
Specialty pharmacy background
Experience maintaining specialty pharmacy accreditations (NABP, URAC, ACHC, NCODA)
