Responsibilities
Lead and execute assurance engagements for financial institution clients, ensuring timely and compliant delivery
Serve as a trusted advisor on complex accounting matters, including CECL, loan and deposit accounting, derivatives, and fair value measurements
Evaluate internal controls over lending, investments, IT, and regulatory compliance to recommend efficiency improvements
Review workpapers, financial statements, and disclosures for strict compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards
Manage engagement economics, including budgets, staffing, and profitability goals
Present audit findings and strategic insights to client executive management and audit committees
Mentor, train, and develop engagement team members on technical assurance skills and banking best practices
Assist in business development and the onboarding of new engagements
Qualification
Required
Active CPA License is required
5+ years of progressive public accounting experience, with a specific focus on Financial Institutions/Banking
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, AICPA standards, and financial institution regulatory reporting
Proven experience with CECL, investment securities, and asset/liability management
Understanding of core banking operations, including credit risk and liquidity
Proven ability to lead engagements, mentor staff, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into business insights for clients
Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office
