Responsibilities

Serve as a liaison to state government to improve legislative conditions for Centene and state health plans
Develop state-level legislative public policies related to insurance and managed care regulations
Manage relationships with lobbyists and consultants, ensuring advocacy aligns with organizational goals
Identify and analyze legislative issues impacting state health plans and advise management
Represent Centene to stakeholders, including trade groups and state legislators
Shape legislative policies through coalitions and advocacy campaigns
Balance reporting needs across various organizational levels, including regional vice president and state health plan president

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Government Affairs, or Business Administration required
5+ years of experience in a related field with state legislative and regulatory knowledge
Extensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid laws and state health insurance regulations
Proven management experience with skills in hiring, training, and performance management
Experience working with healthcare trade associations like AHIP and NAIC

Preferred

Master's or Law degree preferred
