Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Daksta is a company specializing in connecting mission-critical talent, and they are seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join their team. The role involves executing commissioning procedures for complex electrical systems in mission-critical data center projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for HV/MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, Static Transfer Switches (STS), Power Distribution Units (PDUs), diesel generators, and building management system (BMS) integration points
Perform installation verification, functional performance testing (FPT), and integrated systems testing (IST)
Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and construction drawings
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase
Complete detailed commissioning documentation, including test scripts, checklists, and daily reports
Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards (NFPA70E, OSHA) and quality procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent trade qualification with significant experience
Proven experience (3+ years) in commissioning electrical systems, ideally within data centers, pharmaceuticals, or other mission-critical environments
Strong hands-on knowledge of medium and low-voltage switchgear, protection relays, and parallel generator systems
Proficiency with testing equipment (multimeters, relay test sets, power quality analyzers)
Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical, safety-first approach
