Site Safety Manager

Daksta is a company that connects mission-critical talent and is currently partnered with a top-ranked commercial general contractor in the D.C. Metro area. They are seeking a Site Safety Manager to develop and implement safety programs, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with safety regulations across various construction projects.

Staffing & Recruiting

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety programs across all projects
Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to create job-specific safety plans
Lead investigations into incidents or near-misses, providing reports and recommendations for corrective actions
Support the administration of safety documentation, training records, and compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards
Facilitate safety training programs, toolbox talks, and certification courses for staff and subcontractors
Monitor subcontractor compliance with insurance, safety requirements, and site protocols
Provide guidance on safety equipment, signage, and emergency preparedness
Contribute to corporate safety initiatives and committees, offering insight and recommendations for improvement

Qualification

Required

High school diploma required; degree in Safety, Health, or a related field preferred
Minimum of five years' experience in construction safety, including implementation of safety standards, audits, and reporting
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, federal and state safety standards, and construction industry best practices
Current OSHA 30 or OSHA 500 certification, First Aid & CPR certification, and Competent Person Training (fall protection, confined space, scaffolding, excavation)
Demonstrated ability to foster a safety-first culture, work collaboratively with field teams, and proactively address safety concerns

Preferred

Degree in Safety, Health, or a related field
Construction Quality Management certification (CQM-C) preferred
Experience with asbestos or lead supervision, NFPA 70E, or security clearance/GSA badge is advantageous
