Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management processes, policies, and standards for AWS environments
Build, deploy, and enhance Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform to automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of AWS resources
Manage and optimize multiple environments including Development, Test, Stage, and Production, ensuring consistency and security
Support automation pipelines using AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline
Collaborate with DevOps teams to support releases, deployments, rollbacks, configuration updates, and environment readiness
Design and maintain automated AWS backup solutions to ensure data integrity, resiliency, and compliance with retention policies
Implement automated patching workflows to maintain security and compliance posture
Conduct periodic audits of environment configuration, patch levels, backup integrity, and certificate compliance
Manage installation, renewal, rotation, and validation of SSL/TLS certificates across AWS services
Ensure secure communication configurations aligned with state and federal security requirements
Maintain accurate documentation for configuration baselines, IaC standards, module usage, and environment changes
Provide training and guidance on Terraform, AWS best practices, backup strategies, patch automation, and certificate management
Qualification
Required
Eight or more years of configuration management experience
Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies
Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and ACM
Experience implementing cloud backup solutions and automated patching
Expertise in SSL/TLS certificate management and cloud security best practices
Configuration management and release engineering in AWS environments
Supporting DevOps automation and CI/CD pipelines
Managing multi-environment cloud deployments
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Excellent attention to detail and problem investigation abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and planning abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Preferred
AWS and/or Terraform certifications preferred
Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Experience working in government or public sector environments
Experience with Agile delivery tools and project coordination
Experience with organizational change management
