Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the sales team by creating clear job expectations and setting monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
Monitor sales performance using various analytics and reporting tools to ensure the team is meeting or exceeding targets
Provide coaching, performance feedback, and discipline as necessary; create improvement plans for underperforming team members
Partner with the Marketing department to design and coordinate print materials, sales collateral, and promotional campaigns tailored to field sales activities
Identify areas for improvement in sales approach and territory coverage; develop and implement strategic plans to enhance market penetration
Recruit, hire, and onboard outside sales professionals; develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to support ongoing skill development
Oversee all aspects of outside sales operations including territory management, customer visits, and lead generation strategies
Develop and manage sales budgets to align departmental and company financial objectives
Motivate the outside sales team to consistently achieve assigned sales goals and maintain high levels of performance
Analyze customer activity, sales trends, and market conditions to anticipate customer needs and enhance satisfaction
Create and present detailed sales reports and performance metrics to senior leadership
Establish, grow, and maintain relationships with key customer accounts within assigned territories to ensure long-term business success
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus
5+ years of experience managing an outside sales team, preferably within the industrial flow control industry
Proven track record of leading successful field sales operations and achieving revenue goals
Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools
Ability to travel as required to support territory coverage and team development
