Responsibilities
Manage all day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
Process and track membership dues, event revenue, sponsorships, and other income
Maintain the association’s accounting system and chart of accounts
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts
Prepare monthly financial statements and internal reports for leadership
Assist with annual budgeting and cash-flow planning
Coordinate year-end close and serve as primary contact for auditors and tax preparers
Ensure compliance with applicable nonprofit accounting standards, internal controls, and state and federal reporting requirements
Support financial reporting for the board of directors and committees as needed
Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized financial records
Provide financial insight and administrative support to the Executive Director as appropriate
Qualification
Required
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
Experience working independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Excel
Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices
High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
Clear, professional communication skills
Demonstrated experience providing outsourced accounting services
Ability to provide consistent staffing and continuity of service
Clear communication and defined points of contact
Familiarity with audit coordination and nonprofit tax filings
Preferred
Experience with nonprofit, association, or membership-based organizations preferred
Prior work with trade associations or nonprofits
Familiarity with membership dues billing and event-related revenue
Experience preparing financial reports for boards or finance committees
