Project Management Intern

Responsibilities
Project Planning & Tracking – Learn how to develop and maintain project work plans, schedules, and reports
Collaboration & Communication – Participate in cross-functional team meetings, capturing key updates, risks, and decisions
Risk & Issue Management – Observe how project managers identify, track, and escalate project risks and resource challenges
Tools & Processes – Gain hands-on exposure to Komatsu’s project management methodologies, templates, and tracking systems
Continuous Improvement – Support initiatives that improve program management tools, reporting, and knowledge sharing across the team
Professional Development – Build skills in communication, teamwork, time management, and business process awareness
Qualification
Required
Education: Actively enrolled in a Business, Project Management, or Engineering Program from a 4-year accredited college/university
Interest in project management, engineering, or manufacturing operations
Must be able to apply their academic background to real business world experiences
Soft Skills: Must have Excellent written and verbal communications
Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and easily adapt to new challenges and business working environment
Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results
PC Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel (Pivot Tables), Power Point (slide presentations) and other summary and analysis tools
Must demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills
Travel: Some travel may be required
Preferred
Familiarity with project management and product development lifecycles is a plus
Experience: Prior experience with work study programs, school or volunteer leadership roles, participated on teams or in clubs, professional organizations, etc. preferred
