Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components, mechanisms, and systems
Translate internal and external customer requirements into basic specifications and design solutions with moderate guidance
Create and maintain 2D and 3D drawings in accordance with ASME standards
Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles during the design process
Perform feasibility analysis to evaluate design concepts
Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to identify and mitigate design risks
Identify and manage Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) characteristics
Develop and execute test protocols with moderate guidance
Independently test, analyze, and resolve technical issues
Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to a variety of standard engineering activities
Collaborate with internal teams to meet business and customer needs
Qualification
Required
2D drafting and creation of 2D drawings
3D drafting and modeling
Proficiency with ASME standards
Experience identifying and managing critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements
Experience performing DFMEA
Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Expert-level proficiency with mechanical CAD tools, including SolidWorks, CREO, and Pro/ENGINEER (ProE)
Feasibility analysis experience
Preferred
Experience with 3D printing
