Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain PLC programs for warehouse automation and material handling systems
Support controls architecture for conveyors, sortation, AS/RS, robotics interfaces, and WMS/WCS integrations
Develop and debug I/O, motion control, safety circuits, and HMI logic
Perform system testing, validation, and troubleshooting in development and production environments
Support on-site commissioning, system startup, and post-go-live optimization
Collaborate with mechanical, software, and operations teams to translate requirements into control logic
Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and control narratives
Qualification
Required
5–10+ years of experience in controls engineering or industrial automation
Strong hands-on PLC programming experience
(Allen-Bradley / Rockwell preferred; Siemens a plus)
Experience with warehouse automation or material handling systems
Solid understanding of industrial networking, sensors, VFDs, servos, and motion control
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems in live production environments
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred
HMI development experience (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition, etc.)
Experience with safety PLCs and industrial safety standards
Familiarity with high-throughput distribution or fulfillment centers
Exposure to system commissioning and field support
