Semiconductor Applications Engineer

Responsibilities
Actively engage with customers to understand their processes, challenges, and goals. Provide on-site support at customer locations for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of UNISERS equipment to ensure minimal downtime and optimal tool performance
Support customer demonstrations, feasibility studies, and evaluation projects conducted in the UNISERS Taiwan demo lab, including tool setup, sample preparation, experiment execution, data analysis, and result reporting
Collaborate with internal teams to translate customer needs and demo outcomes into actionable problem statements, driving continuous improvements in tool reliability, applications, and workflows
Take ownership of applications development through a combination of on-site customer experiments and in-lab demo activities, optimizing workflows and delivering innovative, customer-specific solutions that maximize the value of UNISERS tools
Drive Joint Development Projects (JDPs) by aligning customer objectives with internal R&D and engineering teams, managing technical execution, tracking milestones, and delivering agreed outcomes
Document experimental results, demo findings, and best practices. Share insights with internal teams and contribute to the refinement of standard demo protocols, applications notes, and customer training materials
Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders through clear, professional written reports, presentations, and technical discussions
Qualification
Required
Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field, with hands-on experience in analytical methods for nanoparticles and surfaces
Strong commitment to safety, with the ability to identify hazards, follow safety protocols, and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others
Experience in semiconductor-grade material testing, contamination control, or application development for R&D or manufacturing
Willingness to be cross-trained in both applications development and equipment maintenance
Proven ability to troubleshoot, maintain, or calibrate advanced analytical tools in high-tech environments
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision
A high level of integrity for securing customer confidentiality
Strong data analysis skills; Python proficiency is a plus
Self-motivated, organized, and skilled in communicating with both customers and teams
Fluent in English
TAIWAN ONLY: Proficiency in Mandarin and knowledge of local semiconductor manufacturing standards and facilities are essential
