Responsibilities

Working independently
Responsibilities include the following related to Computer, Network, Storage, Cloud and End-User infrastructure
Participates in the research, lab installation, configuration and testing, drawings and standards of enterprise networks with a primary focus on network routing and switching
Perform infrastructure project assignments. Plan, research, evaluate and design infrastructure solutions
Provide a high level of technical support and analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities. Adhere to AEP’s approval processes as part of change management, incident management and trouble response scenarios
Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations
Prepare technical documentation including procedures, manuals, and reports
Review and adhere to budgeting and approval processes while assisting with annual and project planning
May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required
7 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered

Preferred

Foundational understanding of communications technologies and demonstrate the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve network problems of moderate complexity
Solid understanding of tier II and tier III support for the Network Operations Center (NOC) and Field Operations
Experience with Cisco Wireless, Catalyst Center, MS Visio
Experience with Cisco ISE for network access control, device profiling, and guest/onboarding workflows
CCNA (Preferred)
