This role will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with government regulations while leading month-end close and supporting audits.

Responsibilities
Lead technical accounting activities in accordance with US GAAP , FAR , and CAS
Ensure accurate accounting for government contracts, including cost allocations, indirect rates, and revenue recognition
Prepare documentation and analyses for government audits and regulatory reviews
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with federal cost rules
Oversee the general ledger, balance sheet, and month-end close process
Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reports
Monitor spending and ensure expenses are properly coded and compliant
Support budgeting and financial planning efforts
Manage indirect cost structures and cost pools
Oversee billing, reporting, and audit-ready documentation
Act as a key contact for auditors and government oversight agencies
Manage and guide accounting staff on policies, procedures, and best practices
Partner with internal teams and leadership to improve processes and reporting
Identify opportunities for efficiency and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA required
7+ years of experience in accounting, including government contracting
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, FAR, and CAS
Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Preferred
Public accounting experience is a plus
Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics or similar preferred)
