InternLycoming Engines, a Textron Systems affiliate, is a leader in aviation engine manufacturing. They are seeking an intern to develop software tools and applications that optimize manufacturing processes and improve productivity under management supervision.

Responsibilities
Develop software tools and applications to optimize manufacturing processes
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to identify inefficiencies and provide software-driven solutions
Create systems and tools that integrate manufacturing equipment with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or manufacturing execution systems (MES)
Work with technologies like PLC programming (Programmable Logic Controllers) for automation
Develop tools for real-time data collection and analysis
Work on predictive maintenance and performance monitoring systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve bottlenecks and improve process efficiency
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Software Development/Engineering, Information Technology, or Data Analytics
Proficiency in languages like Python, C++, JavaScript, or C#
Familiarity with industrial standard programming tools (e.g., Power Bi, MATLAB, LabVIEW, PLC programming languages, PlantSim)
Knowledge in process optimization, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma
Familiarity with systems thinking and methods for improving production workflows
Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
Knowledge of automation technologies like IoT (Internet of Things), robotics, or SCADA systems
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities to align with manufacturing and engineering teams
