Responsibilities

Oversee the overall operations of the Print Department, ensuring high-quality output, efficient workflows, and adherence to company standards
Serve as a mentor and resource for the Print Team, providing leadership, training, and support to ensure consistent performance
Assist the Design Team with complex design projects, providing guidance and reviewing layouts for accuracy and production readiness
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to finalize design proofs and mockups
Create detailed 2D layouts using Adobe Illustrator and other design software (e.g., Photoshop)
Mimic drafting sketches within Illustrator to show measurements and solutions to design choices according to specific parameters
Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure layout accuracy and alignment with project specifications
Prepare layouts for final production and fabrication, ensuring all details meet customer and company standards
Collaborate with other departments to integrate designs into the overall project workflow
Coordinate scheduling and workflow with the Print Operator and Production Team to meet deadlines
Supervise job processing through RIP software, resolving complex technical issues as needed
Oversee quality checks conducted by the Printer Operator to ensure adherence to client specifications and company standards
Provide final approval for print jobs flagged for quality concerns
Review and submit weekly maintenance logs, verifying accuracy and completeness
Ensure the Print Room meets long-term cleanliness and organizational standards
Periodically audit the condition of equipment and supplies, implementing corrective actions as necessary
Enforce compliance with all safety protocols, ensuring team members use proper PPE and ventilation tools
Conduct regular safety reviews to identify and mitigate risks
Schedule and assign daily tasks to the Print Operator and other team members to maintain efficient workflows
Provide training and mentorship to team members, ensuring they follow proper procedures
Evaluate team performance, offer feedback and recognizing accomplishments to foster a positive work environment

Required

Must have supervisory/management experience
Must have high-level experience in Layout Design/Graphics and Print Operations experience is mandatory
Must have experience with RIP (Raster Image Processor) software and Trello
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, with experience in creating technical layouts
Familiarity with other design software such as Photoshop and Microsoft Office Programs
Ability to multi-task and prioritize task in a fast-paced environment
Ideal candidate has a stable, verifiable work history, and positive supervisory references
Punctual with regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
