Data Engineer

Responsibilities
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to process and integrate data from multiple sources
Implement ETL/ELT workflows to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data for reporting and analysis
Develop and optimize SQL scripts, views, and stored procedures to support operational and programmatic needs
Configure and manage data warehousing solutions to support analytics
Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical data solutions
Ensure data quality and integrity through validation, cleansing, and governance practices
Support database structures for relational and non‑relational systems in partnership with DBAs
Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to maintain reliability and performance
Document processes and data flows to create clear, repeatable standards for staff and vendors
Stay current on emerging tools and practices in data integration and cloud platforms, applying best practices to ACOG’s environment
Perform other duties as assigned to advance ACOG’s digital transformation and member‑focused mission
Qualification
Required
Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, or Scala for data pipeline development
Strong understanding of ETL/ELT workflows and data integration best practices
Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
Knowledge of data warehousing solutions
Familiarity with data visualization tools (PowerBI)
Problem‑solving and analytical skills with attention to detail and data quality
Effective communication & collaboration skills to work across technical & non‑technical teams
Ability to document processes and data flows to support organizational knowledge sharing
Commitment to data security and governance standards
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required
5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar technical role
Demonstrated experience with SQL development and database systems (relational and non‑relational)
Proven track record in designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines
Experience implementing data governance frameworks and security best practices
Preferred
Prior experience in a non‑profit, association, or mission‑driven organization preferred
