They are seeking an IT Consultant to support an application development group in modernizing applications from Perl/MySQL to Java/React/MariaDB on an AWS platform.

Responsibilities
Provide deep expertise to project teams, review deliverables (like system requirements, test results) for accuracy, and validate that solutions meet defined standards
Simplify complex technical information for development team, develop high level documentation, and mentor team members
Analyze business operations, identify areas for technical improvement, troubleshoot issues, and recommend new technologies or process enhancements
Translate business needs into technical requirements, define procedures, and set performance standards for tasks
Develop modernized code components as time permits, conduct peer reviews, pair programming
Plan and review results of system testing and user acceptance testing activities
Qualification
Required
10 years as an expert in all versions of the Perl Programming Language required
10 years of experience with Java, React full stack development required
10 years of experience with MySQL, MariaDB required
Preferred
Construction Management subject matter expertise highly desired
Communicating, analyzing, and resolving technical development issues and risks highly desired
Designing test plans and testing Java applications highly desired
Application modernization on an AWS or Azure platform highly desired
Using AI to facilitate application development and testing
