Intern, Publications (Summer 2026)

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is seeking a Publications Intern to support their Communications & Marketing team. The intern will be responsible for writing, editing, and proofing copy for print and online platforms, contributing to the enhancement of the Wolf Trap experience for concert-goers.

Responsibilities

Assist with collecting, editing, and proofreading artist biography information for print and digital program books and publications
Research, write, and edit feature content pieces for program books, Wolf Trap’s blog, Wolf Trap Opera Insider Guide, and other public communications
Assist with building out digital program book pages on the Center Lines Online site
Provide support for the program book and publication review processes
Contribute to brainstorming content ideas that tell the Wolf Trap story to diverse audiences

Required

A strong, creative writer with an interest in the performing arts
Copyediting skills and a sharp attention to detail
Excellent skills in research and organization
Undergraduate students (must have completed at least 1 year of undergraduate study)
Graduate students
Recent graduates (up to 2 years out of school)
Career-changers currently enrolled in a degree program
International students (J-1 or F-1 Visa required)
Must be physically located in and have a local address in Virginia, Maryland, or the District of Columbia for the duration of their employment
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75 percent of the time
Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment (i.e. calculator, copier, printer, etc.)
Occasionally required to walk, stoop, bend and reach with arms
Lift/move up to 10 pounds infrequently

Preferred

Familiarity with AP Style is preferred
Communication, public relations, and journalism majors are preferred, however, great writing samples will make you stand out no matter what your focus
