Responsibilities

Own day-to-day coordination with electric utilities, RTO/ISO (e.g., MISO), and state regulators across generation projects
Supports contract negotiations of energy supply related agreements
Identify, track and ensure delivery of energy supply contract obligations
Manage regulatory filings, approvals, and compliance (LMR elections, capacity treatment, interconnection processes, prudence reviews, etc.)
Coordinate and track core contracts (ESA, CRA, CIAC, interconnection agreements, LTSA support), working closely with internal teams and outside counsel
Developing and reporting on key project metrics (KPIs) related to energization timelines and budget variance
Serve as the connective tissue between development, EPC, legal, finance, and utility counterparties to keep schedules, milestones, and obligations aligned
Focus on execution, risk management, and keeping projects moving once commercial structure is defined

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or business-related fields (accounting, finance, management), or equivalent on-the-job experience
5+ years of experience working for or with electric utilities in a commercial role negotiating, implementing and managing energy service-related contracts with large commercial or industrial loads
Experience in contracts related to serving data center loads is a plus
Knowledge of utility tariff structures and related regulatory processes with state public service commissions
Experience with electrical energy and capacity supply contracts and hedges from the RTO/ ISO market and / or third party bi-lateral agreements would be preferred
Understanding of transmission grid load studies, interconnection facilities infrastructure, and power generation technologies
Ability to interface with other APLD groups, including legal, construction, operations, finance, and land procurement
Communication: Clear verbal and written communication to document project essentials
Collaboration: Ability to work closely with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional partners
Adaptability: Flexible in responding to changes in process, tools, and environment
Accountability: Takes ownership of assigned tasks and follows through with minimal supervision
Attention to Detail: Maintains thorough and accurate logs, inspections, records, and documentation
Time Management: Manages time effectively to meet performance expectations and service levels

Able to remain in a seated position for an extended period and to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. (office manuals, case notebooks, case files, case materials, standard boxes, report binders, etc.) as needed

Preferred

Basic knowledge of RTO and ISO constructs across various US regions
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications
Knowledgeable in electrical load and/or generation interconnection processes
Experience in gas supply arrangements also a plus
