The role involves collaborating with development and engineering teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure cloud environments while supporting modern CI/CD workflows and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
Evaluate multiple architectural designs and consolidate into a single, scalable, and efficient production-ready deployment model
Collaborate with software development teams to understand application requirements, deployment workflows, and operational needs
Design and implement infrastructure automation using Terraform, targeting serverless and containerized services (GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, etc.)
Create, edit, and deploy Terraform modules into production
Provide expertise in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, with potential migration to alternative tools in the future
Guide the modernization of monolithic applications into cloud-native Spring Boot-based microservices (projected to scale to 1,000+ services in the future)
Support development teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration into GKE
Collaborate cross-functionally with on-prem engineering teams on Terraform provisioning and DevOps best practices
Qualification
Required
7+ Years of professional experience in Software, DevOps, Systems, or Cloud Engineering
4+ Years of professional experience specific to Google Cloud Platform Engineering, supporting Application Development, DevOps, and Systems teams in a production environment
Proficiency with Docker containerization, and cloud-native services
Hands-on experience in automated CI/CD hybrid environments (Jenkins, Flux CD, Cloud Build, etc.)
Experience working in Linux/GCP hybrid environments with excellent proficiency with shell/bash scripting and Python
Understanding of middleware components and how to interact with Java-based APIs
Preferred
Any Google Cloud Platform certification (Ideally Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Cloud Architect)
Adept skills with GoLang
Experience with Kubernetes deployments into a Java-based microservices environment
Professional expertise with application architecture transformation from monolith to cloud-native architecture
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
