Senior R&D Laboratory Technician

The Senior Laboratory Technician will focus on developing and executing laboratory chemistry experiments, maintaining analytical equipment, and leading laboratory operations tasks including safety audits and lab organization.
Responsibilities
Execute laboratory experiments as directed by a team of research investigators and maintain a well-functioning R&D lab by leading safety, organization, and purchasing tasks
Execute designed experiments under the direction of a Research Investigator to support R&D projects and plant troubleshooting efforts
Set-up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
Run and maintain analytical equipment including GC’s and titrators
Generate, analyze, and summarize experimental data
Maintain day-to-day laboratory operations including safety, organizational, and ordering tasks
Operate safely in a laboratory R&D environment while working with hazardous chemicals
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in a wet-chemicals laboratory or research & development setting
Strong foundation in laboratory chemistry techniques and analytical equipment
Hands-on orientation and experience assembling lab-scale chemistry equipment
Proficient organization and time management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work responsibilities
Excellent written and oral communications skills with demonstrated ability to document experimental results in Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and by email
Strong people skills with the ability to work independently under limited guidance from a supervisor, as well as in a group environment as part of a larger research team
Creative mindset with a focus on attention to detail and continuous improvement
Self-starter mentality with the passion for working safely and efficiently
Energized by open-ended assignments with opportunities for learning
Preferred
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in chemistry or a related field is preferred; trade-school or high school diploma with significant experience may be considered
