Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with internal policies and nonprofit accounting standards
Record day-to-day financial transactions, including journal entries, in accounting software
Assist in monthly account reconciliations and the preparation of financial reports
Process invoices for payment and ensure appropriate coding and documentation
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
Prepare and send invoices to funders, vendors, or other third parties as needed
Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up as required
File and organize financial and accounting documents (digital and paper)
Maintain orderly and accessible financial records to support audits and reporting needs
Respond to accounting-related phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and reports
Provide general support to the accounting department and collaborate on special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a nonprofit environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., MIP Abila, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
