Workplace Technology Engineer I

Responsibilities
Provide frontline support for workstations and mobile devices, including troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues
Assist with new hire provisioning, including setup of hardware, software, and user accounts
Coordinate with other IT teams (e.g., Network, Security) to resolve escalated or cross-functional issues
Support mobile device management (MDM) platforms, such as Intune or JAMF, for enterprise devices
Install, configure, and update authorized software and operating systems, following established procedures
Participate in OS imaging, patching, and system migration activities
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (VPN, Wi-Fi, corporate applications) and collaborate with network teams as needed
Perform basic network diagnostics (e.g., ping tests, IP configurations) to isolate issues
Provide hardware support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals
Perform routine checks, maintenance, and repairs of equipment; coordinate warranty or vendor support when necessary
Manage hardware inventory, ensuring accurate records of device assignments and statuses
Document all technical issues, resolutions, and user interactions in the IT service management system
Maintain and update internal knowledge base articles, user guides, and troubleshooting documentation
Track and report recurring problems to help identify trends and root causes
Educate users on best practices for endpoint security, IT policies, and effective use of hardware/software
Provide one-on-one or small-group training to end users on new tools, technologies, or processes
Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, concise manner
Adhere to IT security policies and procedures, ensuring devices are up to date with the latest patches and antivirus definitions
Follow compliance guidelines related to data protection and access control
Escalate security concerns or vulnerabilities to the appropriate teams
Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to enhance support services
Demonstrate a self-driven, proactive approach to learning and professional development, seeking opportunities to expand technical knowledge and skill sets
Suggest process improvements or new technologies that can improve operational efficiency or user experience
Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project initiatives to drive innovation
Remain flexible and ready to take on additional responsibilities based on business needs and organizational priorities
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely support outside of standard business hours
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered
Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986
Must pass a Criminal Background Check
Associate's Degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Minimum one (1) year of related work experience in a technical support role
Proven experience with Windows 11, macOS, iOS, and Android operating systems
Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Intune, Jamf, and M365 administration
Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, network, and mobile device support
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, JAMF 100, or Microsoft 365 Certified
Experience with cloud-based SaaS applications (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace)
Familiarity with ServiceNow, JIRA, or similar ITSM tools
Knowledge of MDM platforms (Intune, Jamf, VMware Workspace ONE)
Experience with enterprise security tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, Defender for Endpoint)
Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities, working effectively with diverse groups and cross-functional teams
Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills in high-pressure or fast-paced environments
Adaptability to changing priorities and a willingness to learn new technologies
Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
