Technical Product Manager

Responsibilities

Using a thorough understanding of our software’s logic, develop detailed product requirements, technical API/platform specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Partner with internal stakeholders, clients and integration partners to identify, specify, and deliver new APIs and platform services
Advocate for resilient, observable, and scalable platform design that delivers reliable experiences for internal and external consumers
Ensure alignment of product requirements with customer needs and business objectives
Use production metrics, logs, and incident/postmortem data to drive platform improvements and technical debt reduction
Work collaboratively with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of product requirements
Actively participate in backlog grooming sessions to review and refine the product backlog items
Attend Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand up, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Demo, Retrospective)
Work closely with the QA team to evaluate testing, ensuring product quality and adherence to product requirements

Required

3+ years of experience in a Product Management role
Strong analytical skills and excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. You are an attentive listener and compelling explainer with the ability to focus on a problem, ask the right questions, and gain expertise quickly
Strong technical product user experience instinct: you have delivered products that leverage APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities
Experience working with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and integration patterns; comfortable reading API docs and discussing system architecture
Experience defining non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, security, scalability) for platform services
Demonstrated success in cross-functional and technical communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
Familiarity with modern product work management, documentation, and analytics tools, including Jira, Confluence, Trello, Productboard, UsabilityHub, SQL, Looker, and New Relic
Demonstrated experience working directly with customers to understand needs and translating them into clear software requirements

Preferred

1+ year of experience as a Product Owner of an API-focused software team is strongly preferred
Experience working at the intersection of hardware and software is a plus
Experience running and deploying applications on major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, etc.), with broader cloud services knowledge is a plus
Experience working at a startup is a plus
