Director Strategic Sourcing

Responsibilities
Develop sourcing strategies for global commodities, ensuring that quality, value-cost optimization, service performance, and business continuity are maintained with selected suppliers
Drive annual productivity and cost savings within all manufacturing sites by utilizing the multistep strategic sourcing process
Manage supplier partnerships to ensure continuous performance, meeting or exceeding year-over-year productivity targets through effective supplier management techniques
Measure and track performance within each spend category or region and define the budgetary impact
Demonstrate understanding and influence of market conditions affecting commodities or categories strategies
Serve as the Sourcing Project Leader for key supplier implementations, ensuring that expected results are achieved
Collaborate and act as the lead negotiator for global agreements of varying sizes
Monitor, track, and report on savings and key performance indicators (KPIs) for targeted categories
Manage multiple supplier relationships, including formulating and negotiating critical supply contracts, analyzing market data, evaluating supply alternatives, and developing negotiation strategies
Continuously assess the existing supply base to identify and pursue opportunities for improvement
Mentor and lead junior team members advising strategy and performance management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field required; an MBA is preferred
10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, including 5 years in a leadership role
Familiarity with statistical concepts and data analysis, with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact comfortably with all levels of the organization
Ability to challenge ideas, propose alternative solutions, make effective decisions, and maintain effectiveness under changing circumstances and priorities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently meeting deadlines
Hands-on experience with computerized ERP systems, ideally SAP or IFS
Strong proficiency in MS Office, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel
Specific experience in developing and utilizing make/buy analysis, should-cost models, and Total Cost of Ownership models
Demonstrated leadership and influence skills with a proven ability to impact significant business outcomes
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred
An MBA is preferred
Experience with implementing and maintaining a Lean Material Flow manufacturing environment is a plus
Preferred qualifications include a supply management professional designation (CPM, CPSM, or equivalent)
Experience sourcing chemicals is preferred but not required
