Responsibilities
Develop 3D mechanical designs, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor
Perform mechanical analysis, tolerance stack ups, material selection, and feasibility assessments
Use FEA to evaluate and optimize designs
Develop engineering calculations for mechanical mechanisms and water treatment processes. Mechanical statics and fluid calculations
Collaborate closely with product management, in house production teams, and project engineering to deliver prototypes and design standards
Support Agile Scrum processes, including sprint planning, daily standups, and sprint reviews
Build and test prototypes, create test plans, and document results in a report
Work with estimators or suppliers directly to get costing information or source test equipment
Provide DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) guidance to ensure smooth transition into production
Support root cause analysis and implement design improvements based on test results and field feedback
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Rapid R&D process
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
3–5+ years of mechanical design experience
Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (3D modeling, assemblies, drawings)
Demonstrated experience with mechanical systems, mechanisms, structures, or fluid components
Hands on prototyping and testing experience
Experience working with manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, plastics, or assembly operations
Ability to thrive in a fast moving, iterative development environment
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within cross functional teams

Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred
Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and industry standards
Experience with rapid prototyping tools (3D printing, CNC, etc.)
Proficiency in FEA analysis, specifically Autodesk Nastran
Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication
